Licensed electrician in King Township
King is estate country: large homes on large lots, horse farms on the Oak Ridges Moraine, and the villages of King City, Nobleton and Schomberg. A Master Electrician leads every crew we send for generators, service upgrades, outbuilding power and full home wiring.
Electrical work in King Township
Big properties, long runs
King Township sits just north of Vaughan and Richmond Hill in York Region, but it feels a world away. Most residents live in King City, Nobleton and Schomberg; the rest of the township is farmland, the Holland Marsh, conservation land on the Oak Ridges Moraine, and estate homes set well back from the road. Many properties have a main house, a detached garage, a pool house and sometimes a barn or riding arena.
That makes electrical work here different from a city lot. Services are larger, cable runs are longer, and power has to reach several buildings. Many rural homes are on private wells, so an outage can cut water as well as heat. And with long overhead lines across open country, outages after wind and ice storms are a real concern.
Building permits come from the Township of King, and the electrical permit is filed with the Electrical Safety Authority by us. Much of the township is supplied by Hydro One; we confirm your utility from your bill before planning a service change.
Estate homes
Services sized for large houses
A large King home can carry several furnaces or heat pumps, heated floors, a pool and hot tub, a commercial-style kitchen and two car chargers. Each of those is a big load, and they often run together. We size the service from a load calculation on the whole property, including outbuildings, so the panel isn't full on day one. Some estate homes need a 400 amp service or more than one panel; we'll tell you plainly if yours does.
For homes that already have the capacity, the work is usually adding: lighting plans for tall great rooms and long driveways, Level 2 chargers in multi-bay garages, and whole-home surge protection for the electronics and smart-home equipment throughout.
Backup power
Generators that keep the well and the barn running
For a King property, a standby generator usually has more to carry than in the city: the well pump, sump pumps, heating, the fridge and freezer, and sometimes water heaters for animals or lighting in the barn. We size it around the essentials you name, add an automatic transfer switch so it starts on its own, and place it with the right clearances and gas supply.
In King City and Nobleton, where newer homes are on municipal water, generator plans are more about comfort, home offices and sump pumps in deep basements.
Power to an outbuilding
How we feed a garage, barn or workshop
A permitted buried feeder, planned from the panel out.
Plan the load
What will run in the building now and later: lights, heaters, tools, chargers.
Locates
Underground utilities marked through Ontario One Call before any digging.
Trench and feeder
Cable buried at the required depth and protected where it enters each building.
Sub-panel
A panel in the outbuilding with its own breakers and grounding.
Inspection
ESA inspects the work and issues the Certificate of Acceptance.

Questions
King electrical questions
Do you also work in Kleinburg?
Yes. Kleinburg is part of the City of Vaughan rather than King Township, so it's covered on our Vaughan page. We work on both sides of the boundary.
My house is far from the road. Does that affect a service upgrade?
It can. Long underground services and large estate homes often need bigger conductors and careful planning with the utility, and some properties have the meter at the road with a long feeder to the house. We confirm how your property is supplied at the first visit and plan the upgrade around it.
Is travel time charged for King?
King Township is outside the city, so travel time is included in the quote. You see it in writing before you book.
What size generator do I need?
It depends on what you want running during an outage. Some homeowners back up essentials only (furnace, sump pump, fridge, a few lights and outlets). Others want the whole house. We look at your panel and how you use power, then recommend a size and a transfer switch to match.
Is your work guaranteed?
Every job comes with our 1-year workmanship warranty. Products carry their own manufacturer warranties on top of that, and standby generators can be covered by extended manufacturer warranties.
